This issue has been fairly difficult for us to reproduce, so I would not expect it to happen every time you go for a run. The screws are beyond small. I find it funny that the Garmin tech essentially suggested that I purchase a Polar Heart Rate Strap rather than one of their own! Bypassing the battery contacts should cause a reset of the device. Despite periodic cleanings, I just can't bring myself to do it. Source They all mix and match.
